COJAC are providing a new adult day service for young adults with additional support needs aged 18-35. The service will allow young adults to socialise and make new friendships with peers their own age.
Our staff team are highly trained and experienced in supporting adults with additional support needs. We have worked together to come up with a range of activities to promote Health and Wellbeing, Independent Living, Life Skills, Gardening, Cooking, Sports & Recreation and Music & Drama.
We have a fully accessible building, with a variety of different resources, such as a sensory room, music room, computer room and arts & crafts.
The cost of the service will be £8 per hour and will be required to be paid one week in advance for the following week. Occasional use is available at £10 per hour and must be pre-booked.
Our service is a Scottish Charity of Incorporation (SCIO), registered with Care Inspectorate with our evening service scoring very good at our last inspection. All staff are qualified to a minimum of SVQ Level 2 and are all members of the Social Work Services Council which ensures all our staff are undertaking qualifications relevant to their role within the service. All staff within the centre are members of the PVG Scheme.
As an independent local registered Scottish Charity we are monitored by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. We are managed by a voluntary bound comprising of parents/carers of the service. We are a non-profit making organisation and all funds raised go back into service delivery. Our voluntary board ensure the involvement of and participation of service users and their families in service delivery.
We follow Keys to Life which promotes young adults with additional support needs to have Independence, Choice & Control, A Healthy Life and Active Citizenship.
